Marian Simion

Marian has an executive and Information Technology background, with more than 20 years of experience in local business development, IT strategy, P&L responsibility, mentoring and stuff management, and all related activities around coordination and transformation of the IT department with focus in financial services and banking. With a good understanding of banking systems and financial services in the Board, Marian knows how to support business decisions using IT tools.

Marian began his career in 1992 as an analyst – developer for National Bank of Romania and then his career evolved within Transfond up to the position of CIO. At Transfond, Marian took the challenge to build an IT department mainly responsible for developing the Romanian System of Balance of Payments, coordinating and overseeing all operations in terms of technology to achieve business goals. Under his supervision, the IT department has developed many advanced products, including e-archives (first SaaS produced in Romania), e-billing and a single line card lost or stolen (LUC).

Marian is a graduate of Politehnica University in Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications and holds multiple qualifications in IT and finance.
